Sometimes obstacles create opportunities. When concerns over the pandemic shut down our plans for year-ending Secret Suppers and Bar Schools in 2020, the Distinction team used the lull to host our very first virtual cooking class. It was an idea we’d been tossing around for a while, and the timing seemed right for a little social distanced learning.
Chef Amy Brandt was kind enough to serve as our first teacher. From her impressive kitchen on the Eastern Shore, she led viewers through the process of making three delicious dishes: Eastern Shore figs filled with goat cheese and wrapped in prosciutto, sweet potato biscuits with Edwards country ham and pan fried apple rings, and a tomato basil and ricotta tart.
The results were amazing, and based on feedback from attendees we will likely do this again soon. If you’d like to take the class, visit distinctionva.com/ virtual-cooking-class.
