Chef Walter Bundy has championed Virginia farmers, fishermen and artisans for years. So, it seemed only fitting that Distinction’s Supper Club closed out 2019 by hitting the road for a fun-filled night in Richmond and an amazing dinner at Bundy’s restaurant, Shagbark.
A hardy group of drinkers gathered at Fin Seafood in Newport News for the first Bar School of the year. Fittingly, given the timing, the lessons focused on drinks that could help you recover from a rollicking New Year’s.
The best of North Carolina’s signature dishes are made on the Outer Banks. Sweet, soft-shell blue crabs pulled from nearby shedders, and briny, summertime shrimp only taste this good when served fresh from the water. Red- pepper- and-vinegar- based pork barbecue is a regional specialty and is always in high demand, as are grab-and-go biscuits and zesty pimento cheese. Here are a few of our favorites.
